Thank you for your interest in youth mentoring!

Why should you be a mentor?
The drop out rate in Denver high schools is 37% and 42% of Denver’s homeless people are under the age of 18. Studies show that mentoring programs help young people improve their school performance, social skills, self-esteem and ultimately, their future.
By mentoring, you will strengthen our community and make a difference in the life of a young person. As a mentor, you provide a structured trusting relationship that provides support and encouragement to make better life choices.
You don’t need any special skills. Mentoring is simply making a commitment to a young person who will benefit from a positive adult role model.

How do I get involved?

Next Steps
If you are ready to get started today please complete a mentor questionnaire. You can submit your questionnaire online, or you can download the questionnaire PDF Icon and fax the document to Katie Driggins at 303-455-6462.  Upon receipt of your questionnaire, a representative will schedule an appointment to determine which Youth Mentoring Collaborative agency is the best match for you to begin your mentoring experience. We will register you for a Mentoring 101 workshop, and then you will complete an application, interview, background screening and training with the organization that you select to do your mentoring.
