Raising Your EQ as a Mentor Print
Hosted by YESS Institute

 Frustration, irritation, guilt, shame, anxiety…
As experienced mentors know, the relationship with your mentee brings up many – sometime not so good – feelings.
Research agrees that the “quality of the relationship” is a core component to successful mentoring. Your emotional intelligence quotient as a mentor and role model determines that quality. This workshop addresses awareness and provides strategies to deal with the impact of emotions on you and your mentee’s behavior:  We will address:

  • How do 5 core emotions lead to 8 “Emotional Dwarfs” or dysfunctional, uninspiring behaviors
  • The “Wheel of Positive Role Modeling” and “Apple Pie Concept” addressing accountability as a mentor
  • The Insight Button Technique will provide you the skills and insight into building “relationship quality”.

  • Please join us for free pizza and networking from 5:30-6pm before the trainings start.

To cover the cost of these wonderful trainings, we are now charging $10 per person per training.  Please bring a check the night of the training, made out to the Youth Mentoring Collaborative.  If you are with a YMC agency, your agency will pay for you.
